Minnesota Public Radio purchased the theater in 1980 and restored it in 1986 for the live radio program A Prairie Home Companion® with Garrison Keillor. The theater was again renamed in 1994, this time for author F. Scott Fitzgerald, a native of Saint Paul.

Today visitors can tour the Gibbs family farm house. The Dakotah style tipi and replica bark lodge allow visitors to explore the traditional lifeways of the Dakotah. Visitors can observe a native prairie, a Dakotah medicine garden, and traditional Dakotah and pioneer crop gardens.
Visitors also will find the original white barn built by the Gibbs family in 1910 and the red barn, designed by prominent architect Edwin Lundie. The Stoen School, built in the 1880s, was moved from Chippewa County, Minnesota in 1966. The schoolhouse is furnished with wooden school desks, slate boards, McGuffey’s Readers, a pump organ, and a working school bell. |

The OVAL is a 400 meter speed skating track surrounding an infield area consisting of four hockey rinks. The 800 ton refrigeration system allows the OVAL to maintain ice from early November to early March. The OVAL hosts a variety of ice sports including speed skating, hockey, bandy and general recreational skating. The OVAL also is home to one of the Midwest's largest aggressive skate parks, inline skating and inline speed skating races from May to September. |

Soon after, the WNBA saw its attendance at the New York Liberty game surpass the 1 million mark for attendance. Fans quickly took to the idea of women playing professional basketball and wanted to show their support.
In April 1998, the WNBA announced they would add two expansion teams, to be managed by the Minnesota Timberwolves and Orlando Magic, for the 1999 season. The Minnesota Renaissance Festival began its journey in September of 1971 on a 22 acre field in Jonathan, MN. More than 25,000 people visited the two weekend grand opening of the festival then named “A Celebration of Nature, Art, and Life!” That celebration has since relocated to Shakopee, MN and has grown to be the largest Renaissance Festival in the United States with more than 700 entertainers, 275 crafters, 120 food booths and an annual attendance of 275,000, all adding to the magic that draws in visitors from across the nation.
